Time to start making somethings happen again. ELPHNT is back.
I think posting daily for the sake of posting is perhaps a futile effort, so instead I will endeavour to post some sort of worthwhile content everyday - it’s gonna be hard to keep up with new content every day, but I think it can be done. If it’s not working out then I guess I’ll just post content when I make it. So, let’s see how it goes.
So technically it’s the 3rd day, but I haven’t gone to sleep yet so it’s still day 2 for me :p I was totally gonna post earlier anyway but I forgot : |
I’ve just been working this evening on getting all my gear setup properly and my setup really working well - I’m slowly getting towards something I’m comfortable with.
Possibly gonna add a Launchpad I found on Gumtree to the setup, we’ll see…
That’s pretty much all that happened today XD
this is my first attempt in a soon to be long line of attempts to post at least one snippet of content everyday; some of these snippets may be long, some may be short and some will be in between. some will have pictures, some will have music and some will have nothing at all, the bottom line is that they will be there at least once a day.
this isn’t any kind of promise to anyone other than myself to endeavour that no matter what happens in any day, that day will not go unnoticed and will have some sort of meaningful (or meaningless) output.
here’s to many a good post (and many a very bland, useless post too)
p.s: keep your eyes and ears open for weeklies and monthlies too, maybe even yearlies - i’m excited
As I mentioned in the previous post, week 14 has been a bit of a nasty one - with no computer for the majority of the week I was pretty useless in terms of getting things done. As a result I have not really had time to work on a track for this week but in the spirit of releasing one track each week I have recycled a previously unreleased track that I did quite a while ago. Unfortunately my internet is misbehaving, as usual, so I’m not going to upload it this evening - it will be up sometime tomorrow.
This week has been somewhat painful; my hard drive failed on Tuesday and the rest of the week was spent trying to recover. Fortunately I’m pretty obsessive about how I back up my data, so nothing was lost save for the many hours of time I spent fixing up my machine, reinstalling apps and moving backed up data.
Everything still isn’t 100% back to the way it was - you know like when you move house and you’re still unpacking boxes for months after - this week my virtual house burnt down and I had to start over (fortunately I was covered by insurance ^_^).
My virtual house burning down also means that I get to build a whole new house, and I took the opportunity to upgrade my RAM, HDD and OS and I feel like I’ve gotten a whole new machine.
So while it will take a while to get back to the state of organisation that I was at before the crash has been somewhat like a controlled forest fire, burning away the old grass so that new fresh grass can grow through.
